Laura lives in Westbury with her husband and her daughter. Before qualifying as an Early Years Teacher, Laura enjoyed a long career in the heritage sector; working at various historic properties for both English Heritage and National Trust. Part of her role when working for English Heritage involved creating and leading children’s events, birthday parties and interactive guided tours. Whilst working at Farleigh Hungerford Castle, she found the most rewarding part of her role was teaching primary school aged children about what life would have been like in a Medieval castle through interactive ‘Discovery Tours,’ and never tired of seeing the children’s faces when they tried on the chainmail armour or the held the full sized replica knight’s sword!
Laura holds a BA (hons) in English Literature and History. She joined a local nursery and retrained as an Early Years Teacher completing her PGCE at Bath Spa University. Laura is passionate about children learning in the outdoors and being in nature as much as possible. She uses yoga in her practice to support young children with their emotional and physical wellbeing and has a particular interest in using Makaton to help little ones develop their speech and communicate with adults and their peers.
